24/05/2018British Airways announced that they will add four weekly flights to their double daily Johannesburg – London schedule. The new flights will be start operating on the 29th of August. The airline will use its newest aircraft, the Boeing 787-800, on this route. The airline currently operates 14 weekly flights on this route.
08/05/2018Massive news for Durbanites! British Airways will launch the first direct flights from Durban to London in more than two decades. British Airways will start with two or three flights a week on the new route, which will be launched before the end of 2018. Bookings will open soon!
17/03/2016On 26 March 2015 British Airways made changes to seat selection on hand luggage only fares. For bookings made on or after this date, British Airways will allocate you a seat when you check-in. If you would like to change your allocated seat, you will be able to do so for a particular fee. Please note that for hand luggage only bookings made on or before March 26, 2015, free seat selection at check-in will still be available.
Carry on baggage
One item of luggage per passenger is permitted, with maximum dimensions of 22 x 18 x 10. Additional to that, one personal item is permitted. Any items over the free allowance will be charged for excess luggage.
Checked baggage
Economy class passengers are allowed to 23kg of checked baggage while business class passengers are allowed 32kg.
Travellers are required to check-in 45 minutes before departure. Online check-in closes one hour before departure. “Fast bag drop” machines are available to drop off any hold luggage if you’ve check-in online.
British Airways operates a three tier cabin class configuration. Passengers can choose to buy tickets in economy, business or first class.
